44.- El “maquis”

2013 02 13 el maquis C

When I saw him walking, came to my memory some old photos of the postwar, when the “maquis” still fighting in the mountains.

PS: after the Spanish civil war, some republicans fighters stayed or returned to Spain to fight against fascism in a guerrilla war. They resisted in the mountains since 1939. In 1952 most of them were withdrawn from France but some decided to continue the fight until death. The end of the movement “maquis” were the deaths of Ramon Vila in 1963 and José Castro in 1965.
